Certification of being alive for the Pension Fund in Russia.

How to obtain a certification of being alive for the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation in the U.S.

Russian citizens living abroad are eligible to receive their pension if they officially prove that they are still alive each year to the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation. Since June 2014 it is required to submit the proof of life document within 12 months of the last time you submitted it or within 12 months after first applying.  If you receive the pension to a bank account abroad, you must submit the certificate of being alive to the main office of the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation at Shabolovka street, 4, Moscow, Russia 119991. If you receive the pension to a Russian bank account, you must submit the document to the regional branch of the Pension Fund where you applied. You can submit this document in person or by mail. With help from Russian Agency you can have this document done and submitted without traveling to Russia or the Consulate in the U.S.

  • After your request, we will prepare the text of the certificate of being alive using your personal information provided by you. The text of the certificate will also contain a standard acknowledgement of the individual according to the rules of your state. This is required for a notary public to authorize your signature.
  • If you live close to one of our offices, you can have your signature authorized by a notary public for free at one of our locations. If you do not live nearby, you can have your signature authorized by any notary public, even a non-Russian speaking one. For example, you can do this for free in your bank where you have an account. Just call your bank to make an appointment. This notarized document will need to be mailed to us.
