Russian Travel Passport Renewal

Russian Foreign Travel Passport

“RUSSIAN TRAVEL PASSPORT RENEWAL IN THE U.S. AND CANADA”

As you know the Russian Federation offers two types of Russian travel passports, non-biometric for 5 years and biometric for 10 years. The only difference between these two passports is how long they are valid and the amount of the consular fee. The consular fee for a 5-year passport is $30.00 and it is $80.00 for a 10-year passport. Whether you are traveling with a Russian non-biometric or biometric passport, they will be treated the same by any country that you are entering. Here at RUSSIAN AGENCY we are happy to help you obtain either passport.

The 10-year biometric Russian  travel passport always requires traveling to the Russian embassy or consulate because they need to use special equipment. We can help help you schedule an appointment and apply for a passport right away. For a 5-year non-biometric travel passport there are 2 options.
The first option requires traveling to the embassy or consulate just like you would for the 10-year passport.
The second option is to apply while the Russian embassy or consulate is doing a travel session in your area. They conduct travel sessions a few times a year in bigger cities throughout America. Probably you have noticed that it is very difficult to reserve an appointment because the Russian consulates give priority to certain groups of people who have more difficulty traveling to a consulate. Travel sessions are usually done with very short notice from the consulates and are quite unpredictable. This combined with priority appointments makes it difficult to reserve an appointment. Despite there being limited available appointments, here at Russian Agency we can do the work for you to reserve a spot.
In this article, you can read more about obtaining a 5-year passport at a consulate travel session in your area.

If your situation is urgent and you can’t wait, you can apply right away with your personal appearance at the Consulate. If you have travel plans, we recommend not waiting for a consular travel session in your area.
Please CALL our TOLL FREE  numbers (888) 9-RUSSIA or (888) 978-7742 about our fees because the pricing is subject to change.

If you are applying for a child under 18 years of age, both child and parent/guardian must appear in person.
Please note that during Russian consular travel sessions there is no option to apply for Russian citizenship for a child. If you need to do this, please find more information here.

After we receive all the documents from you, the following steps will happen:
  • We will check over all your documents and prepare the application and all the forms which are needed to apply for a passport during a consular travel session. You will receive this ready set of documents, a prepaid return envelope, and printed passport size photos either at one of our offices or we can mail it to you with signature required.
