Russian Passport for a child in the US and Canada

“RUSSIAN TRAVEL PASSPORT RENEWAL FOR A CHILD UNDER THE AGE OF 14 IN THE U.S. OR CANADA. “

RUSSIAN AGENCY offers Russian travel passport renewals for children under the age of 14 permanently living in the U.S., Canada, and other countries. There are two types of Russian travel passports, non-biometric travel passports valid for 5 years and biometric travel passports valid for 10 years. We can help you with obtaining either passport. A 5-year non-biometric passport can be processed completely by mail without the personal appearance of the child and parent(s) at the consulate. A 10-year biometric passport requires the child and parent(s) to personally appear at the consulate. Here you can find information about obtaining a 5-year non-biometric passport.

A 5-year non-biometric travel passport for a child can be processed completely by mail regardless of which country you are currently living in:

  • Without waiting for an appointment.

You can apply and receive your documents at any of the RUSSIAN AGENCY offices or also by mail.

These are the available options for expedited travel passport renewals for  minors under the age of 14, if one of the parents has a VALID Russian travel passport at the time they submit the application:

  • standard processing – 1 month
  • expedited processing – 2-3 weeks.
  • urgent processing – by request.

To apply for a new travel passport for a child without a personal appearance, one of the parents must have a valid Russian travel passport (original physical passport  is required) when you apply.

If you don’t have a valid travel passport, we will be happy to help you obtain this.

For all the above options the processing will be done by one of the Russian consulates or the Embassy in the U.S. Your child’s original birth certificate with a stamp proving Russian citizenship is required because it will be stamped by a consular officer with the number of your  child’s new travel passport.
